Meet Our Team
Blossom LGBT CIC has an amazing team that supports us in our mission to provide safe social spaces for LGBTQ+ young adults to feel protected, part of a community, and learn key life skills that will support them in their everyday life.
Our team is run entirely by volunteers who work all year round on everyday projects including our social groups, workshops, fundraisers, delivering Ally and supporters sessions, and many other projects all with the aim to ensure Blossom is consistently able to connect with our community and celebrate our QUEERNESS.
- Over 50% of our team identify as ‘trans and non-binary’.
- Just under 95% of our team identifies as a ‘minoritised gender’.
- Just under 40% of our team identify as having an ‘additional accessibility need’.
- 25% of our team identify as being an ‘older LGBTQ+ person’.
- 30% of our team are from White European countries outside of England
We acknowledge that Blossom LGBT CIC needs to increase the representation of Black and Asian LGBTQ+ people within our team. We take active steps to ensure we create a race-equitable volunteering experience. You can read more about the initiatives & future pledges we have to remove barriers to people of colour volunteering with us by clicking here.
Our Directorship team is responsible for ensuring that Blossom LGBT CIC thrives! They provide clear direction and strategy for the future work & current delivery of our projects.
Community Engagement Managers
Our newly developed community engagement team work with different communities to talk about LGBTQ+ experiences and ensure that our efforts for LGBTQ+ inclusion and safety are more than just a CIS White commitment.
Our Social group facilitators work across a number of different projects (including our social groups and art workshops) to deliver comfortable and sober spaces for LGBTQ+ people to thrive.
The Back Office Team
This team supports us with the administration and day-to-day organising of Blossom LGBT CIC! From running our emails to supporting with social media.
The Advisory Panel
To ensure that our work always has equitable income we have a fantastic team of advisors who assess our work for its impact and explore how to get the best possible outcomes from it.
We also want to use this space to show our respect and remember Chiara De Lucia. Chiara was part of Blossom’s original volunteer team who unfortunately passed away at the age of 28 years old. Chiara was a feminist, environmental activist, and LGBTQ+ person. All our love Chiara, this is for you.
