BUILDING TRANS INCLUSIVE POLICY WORKSHOP

Ahead of this workshop (if you have them) you’ll need to send us your parental leave, domestic abuse, menopause, trans inclusion, and any other people facing policies. We’ll use our expertise in LGBTQ+ inclusion to review these & design a day of learning based off of the policies you already have in place & those that you need.

 

Audience & Delivery

This session is designed for LGBTQ+ people, staff networks, or general teams looking to explore wellbeing at work.

Up to 15 attendees delivered via google meets.

10am till 4pm with an hour for lunch.

Session Goals

  1. Attendees leave with a rounded understanding of what’s required to create trans inclusive policies in their workplace.

Training Agenda

The agenda will be shaped by the policies you already have in place, and those you require, we’ll look at your policies ahead of this meeting to tailor the days actual agenda around what you need. If we don’t think you need a full days workshop, we’ll explore hourly support as a more cost efficient option.

We’ll focus on:

  • Family leave policies
  • Time off policies
  • Trans inclusion policies
  • Transitioning at work policies
  • Other people focused policies (menopause, compassion leave, uniform policy)

It’s important to note that we can’t comment on HR functions, we’ll tell you what the most inclusive employers already have focusing on trans inclusion.

OUR TRAINING ETHOS

At Blossom LGBT CIC we’ve built our training in collaboration with industry leaders in LGBTQ+ inclusion. This includes some of the biggest names in modern day LGBTQ+ equality movements, trend setters in LGBTQ+ workplace inclusivity, and most importantly every day LGBTQ+ people. Each of our training packages centres around one very simple question “What would make LGBTQ+ workplace lives better?” and we go from there.

One of our three core values at Blossom LGBT CIC is inclusivity – That includes including people who are new on their journey. We understand that not everyone can be experts in LGBTQ+ inclusion, that’s why we dedicate our professional lives to it! We’ll never make you feel silly or less if you don’t understand something or can’t quite wrap your head around a concept – We’re here to help you do that. That being said, we never tolerate hate or discrimination fuelled comments (including anti-lgbtq+ dog whistles or teasing of people trying to learn) within our training and always reserve the right to remove attendees who create a negative learning environment.

Our training packages sometimes point out that workplaces aren’t necessarily doing everything they can to develop LGBTQ+ inclusive cultures. That can seem a little bit scary or concerning but don’t worry – We’ve got your back! We can provide tailored support for your workplace to create inclusive cultures including 1-2-1 support, content reviews, design & implementation, or full LGBTQ+ Inclusion audits. It’s really important that LGBTQ+ knowledge and learning isn’t a one off thing! By consistently running LGBTQ+ inclusion courses, or embedding LGBTQ+ inclusion within your onboarding processes, you can work towards creating a workplace culture that truly understands ands values the importance of LGBTQ+ inclusion at every level. We can create bespoke agreements which may include the annual delivery of training, multiple engagements across a year, or supporting you to develop an inclusive induction process.
