What is a Hub?

A Blossom LGBT Community Hub is a free, welcoming space where LGBTQIA+ young adults aged from 18 to 30 years old can meet new people, build friendships, and develop the confidence and skills needed to thrive in adulthood. Whether you’re looking to grow your social circle, expand your professional network, or simply spend time with people who understand your experiences, our hubs provide a safe and supportive place to belong.

Through fun, interactive workshops, you’ll build practical employability skills such as communication, confidence, teamwork, networking, and leadership, while connecting with others in your local community. Every session is free to attend, includes free snacks and refreshments, and is designed to help you leave feeling more connected, more confident, and better equipped for whatever comes next.

What to Expect

Ice Breaking
We know it can be nerve wracking attending a new space, so we have a variety of games including card games available throughout each session; this is a great way to avoid any awkward silences!
Activities
Each week, our team of volunteers will run a free activity, past examples include lino making, cooking, and pottery. Whilst these activities are already fun; we build in employability upskilling so you also take away genuinely helpful skills.
Employability
Whilst at the hubs, you can borrow a laptop to update your CV, access a clothing library for interview clothes, or discuss any issues you are facing at work with the group or one to one with a volunteer.
Accessible
We want everyone to be able to come and have the best time at a Blossom Hub! We put all of our locations and sessions through a 50 point accessibility checklist!

Common Questions About Our Hubs

Our Community Hubs are designed for LGBTQIA+ young adults aged 18 to 30 who want to meet new people, build confidence, develop employability skills, and/or connect with their local community. Whether you’re studying, working, looking for employment, or simply looking to make friends, you’re welcome to join us.

It costs nothing to attend or take part! All Community Hub sessions, including activities are completely free to attend thanks to the support of our funders and partners. We also provide free snacks and refreshments at every session, however, some of our groups may choose to run mini tuck-shops to help fundraise for future sessions.

Each hub offers a mix of social events, networking opportunities, guest hosts, and interactive workshops. The workshop will always have a key topic (such as confidence-building, communication, teamwork, leadership, interview preparation, networking, and other practical skills that can support your personal and professional development). However, we deliver the sessions in a way that keep them fun and engaging for everyone – you’ll never come to a session and sit through a lecture!

Not at all. You’re welcome to attend as often as works for you. Some people join us every week, while others drop in when they can. We want our hubs to be flexible and accessible around work, study, caring responsibilities, and everyday life.

That’s completely normal. Many people attend their first session alone and quickly discover a friendly, welcoming atmosphere. Our team and volunteers will help you settle in, introduce you to others if you’d like, and make sure you feel comfortable from the moment you arrive.

If you are feeling particularly nervous, please feel free to reach out to our hubs team by emailing Hello@Blossom.LGBT to discuss this. We can arrange for you to arrive early to settle in, or discuss any further arrangements that may make you feel more comfortable.

Blossom LGBT is currently rolling out Community Hubs across the UK. All of our hubs are located within a 15-minute walk of public transport, making them easy to access whether you’re travelling from nearby or further afield. Wherever possible, we try to partner with other charities or local community spaces as our venue providers so that we know our rent is supporting good causes just like ours!

We currently operate a hub in:

  • Surrey (Guildford)

Over the next 6 to 24 months, we have plans to launch additional hubs in:

  • London
  • Hampshire
  • Berkshire

For the safety and privacy of attendees, we do not publish the exact addresses of our hubs on our website. Once you sign up, a member of our team will contact you with full venue details and everything you need to know before attending.
