Social space & employability hub

Weekly wellbeing and social drop-in space with employability support for LGBTQ+ young people in Woking.

OUR WELLBEING SPACE

Come and join us for a cosy evening of games, warm drinks and employability support! Each week we take over a cafe in Woking Town Centre and host a drop-in evening to support LGBTQIA+ young adults. We do our very best to create a welcoming atmosphere, where you can come and have fun, make friends and talk about anything that’s on your mind. You’re welcome to join in as much or as little as you like – if you just want somewhere calm to sit, that’s totally fine! Feel free to bring a book or watch TikToks on your phone.

Games

We have a variety of games including card games available throughout each session – this is a great way to make new friends!

Wellbeing

Each week we host a wellbeing-based activity. These are entirely optional but will hopefully be fun and engaging.

Employability

Borrow a laptop to update your CV or discuss any issues you are facing at work with the group (one-to-one services also available).

Accessible

At every session, we have a table of sensory and fidget toys for anybody to use without judgement. We're also located in a wheelchair accessible venue.

FEELING NERVOUS?

We understand that you may feel nervous about your first time visiting the group. If you are feeling particularly nervous, please feel free to reach out to Theo (theo.browning@blossom.lgbt) to discuss this. We can arrange for you to arrive early to settle in, or discuss any further arrangements that may make you feel more comfortable. Alongside our usual activities, we offer one to one listening services, employability support, and access to borrow a laptop for activities such as CV writing.

This is a drop-in space, meaning there is no obligation to stay for the entire session. You are welcome to arrive and leave at any point during the session, and pop out if you’d like to take a break or buy something to eat.

"A Space Where I can actually be myself has meant everything to me! I can't even begin to explain how thankful I am to the team at Blossom.

Access Note: The venue is on the ground floor and wheelchair accessible. We have separate rooms available if you need quiet space, and sensory toys available to use during sessions. We have many neurodivergent people both in our staff and current members, so you will not be judged for stimming or avoiding eye contact. Feel free to email us if we can do anything to make the space more accessible.
