Open Session

I wasn’t sure about attending this session. I am glad that I decided to join. I’m a chippie by trade so this is out of my depth completely but my apprentice said she was pan which really confused me so I wanted to learn a bit. It was fantastic. I’ve never been to a training session where they said so much stuff that just made sense to me. Usually, it’s all too complex and silly – they broke it down and explained it well. It made me understand why I should care. I might not get it all yet, but I do have a newfound respect. My number one takeaway would be the content around why labels actually can matter. I always thought that kids having labels was just so feel special – now I know it’s to feel safe, and why that’s so important.

“An outstanding lunch and learn session. As well as gaining a better understanding of trans people, we spoke about what it means to be trans, the terms you’ll often hear, the current outlook for trans people, and at how we can all start to be better and active allies. It was refreshing to see and hear so many people tell us how valuable this session was for them, how much they have learned about the wonderful trans community and how they want to develop their trans allyship journey.”

“It was fantastic to have a speaker with such a diverse and positive outlook on life. The session was truly inspiring and left us buzzing with ideas about how we can make real change at work. I can’t wait to invite them back to run more training on specific identities”

Creating a workplace environment that values and supports individuals isn’t just a nice thing to do – it’s a fundamental responsibility that lets everyone in an organisation thrive. No one should have to feel unwelcome or unsupported in their workplace. And it’s not just about changing a company’s values on a superficial level.

It requires active effort in educating and empowering staff members to build the skills needed to create a culture of true diversity and inclusion. By investing in upskilling staff members on the nuances of inclusion, organisations can foster an environment where everyone can bring their full selves to work and where all employees feel valued for who they truly are. Together, we can create a more accepting and supportive workplace culture that benefits everyone.

This matters because it shows people that they are considered from the very start of your journey making them more likely to purchase goods, return as a customer, and generally have a positive experience with your company.
